What does an "unmounted photograph" mean?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i think "unmounted" is just a regular photograph... no backing or anything on it like you were framing it. "mounted" photographs usually have a hard backing attached to it to keep it from wrinkling or curling in a frame.

if i'm wrong, someone please correct me. 🙂

one where you're not mounting someone else 😀

seriously...mounting is like when you put it on a background before you frame it. i guess an unmounted photograph would be one that's not pasted/put onto another material to create a border

guys-
i prefer mounting.
if given the option to mount or not mount... i mean, why would you not mount? and if you don't need alcohol to get it started.. .then shiz, i'd be mounting all over the place. west coast, east coast...

It means do not glue, staple, or tape photograph to the application. Just put it as it is.
