I have a tendency to "read" into things a little too much to the point where situation dissection ensues, haha.

So I'm fretting about my interview decision and I wanted to ask you : what does it mean when during the interview the interviewer slides his/her business card to you??

If it was at the beginning of the interview it would've been a sign of introduction/ business etiquette but this was in the MIDDLE of the whole schpiel. Should I relax? haha

Thoughts, please?

I never had an interviewer who slides business card to me during an interview. I had one school that gave us the interviewers' names and emails the night before the interviews, and we were expected to introduce ourself and send resumes over.

Your interviewer probably forgot to give you his/her business card in the beginning. Yes, you should be relaxed the whole time.
Maybe he/she did it just to see if you will get nervous.

thanks to sleepless nights practicing for my interview I was able to relax because I prepared for it relatively speaking. I definitely would not reccommend losing sleep over it, though!

anyways yeah, you could be right about forgetting to present cards in the beginning but then again, I think an employer or in this case an admissions officer would hand a business card to a prospectice student. haha I know, I know, I could be gassing myself up XD

I actually got a business card at an interview before. It was towards the end for me. I spoke with the interviewer a lot about his personal research and what not, and spoke with him a lot about different biostatistics software and how he likes a few of the more popular ones. I took it as being a good sign, but I was and still am pretty unsure about the significance and I'm not sure if anyone else got one. PM me with where ur talking about if u want!

I got a business card from the interviewers at all of the schools I went to, and it was towards the end of the interview. I actually don't think it means anything b/c at one of those schools I was waitlisted (and accepted off the waitlist) while the others I got accepted, so you don't really know...

Hopefully it was a good sign:xf: haha, it's my first choice school. Also, one interviewer, as she was asking me "Why do you think we should pick you?" she was smiling the whole time, was that a yes? haha
