yeah, I agree, sounds like you guys have a lot of extra time on your hands, lol.

It was good, but the sounds didn't make sense. It made sense for "What does the fox say" because the song is inquiring about the sounds of the fox. But functions of organs usually don't have sounds...

Splenomegaly often grows downwards to the right, but that's beyond the point. The video is not funny at all.

I agree. Why is the first instinct here to tear everyone else down?

These guys and gals look like they had a ton of fun and put something impressive together all while studying. Bravo!

The instinct is honest feedback. Their 'Gunner Song' is on my favourite playlist, and I listen to it at least once a week. I loved that production. It was witty, tongue-in-cheek, and very well produced. This lacks all of those qualities. I'm not shy about it. I sent it to over 300 (not facebook - that was shared with over 1k) people. This - not so much.

One of the advantages of being (relatively) anonymous is that you can ask for, and receive honest feedback. They'll have enough friends and classmates telling them what a wonderful job they've done. From me, they'll get the truth.

This culture of 'everybody should get a trophy' needs to stop. We're all grown ups and this mentality only lowers standards and makes people more stupid.

Fine. Tastes differ. That's what I'd classify as feedback, perhaps honest, but definitely not constructive. It's akin to getting "Brain Bucket performed average on his rotations. I encourage him to read more." when on a rotation. Take a gander to the clinical rotations forum and watch as people try to figure out what they're doing wrong when all they're given is such "honest feedback". If you're going to give "honest feedback", make it constructive. Otherwise, you're just adding to the troll-ish scene that anonymity brings.

Not sure where your rant on "everybody should get a trophy" comes from. I wasn't calling for a trophy or awards for HMS 2016, nor was anyone else in this thread. They're having fun and demonstrating that you can have a life and medicine at the same time.

It was constructive. A better analogy is ""Brain Bucket performed average on his Psychiatry rotation. He did far better on his General Surgery rotation." That would tell me: "hey, look at what you did differently" i.e. constructive honest criticism.

Do you really not get this? It was an analogy. American kids receive trophies for participation. Are you not familiar with this practice? Rewarding mediocrity is what I have an issue with. It's out of selfishness, in the hope that they'll try harder and come up with a better production.

The spleen video was awesome. The gunner one was dorky. I don't know what other posters are talking about. My guess is they have no talent and can't dance and are jealous that they could never produce something like this. Classic defense mechanisms. Criticize someone's best work and then try to say their previous clearly less impressive work was better. Doesn't change the fact that it was good regardless if you are envious that they had the time and money to produce something like this.
 
Seems pretty awesome to me, the quality of videos a lot of med school classes make always amazes me. Not sure why people are hating on you all so much about wasting time, the couple people I know who went there literally would have easily passed step1 before they even started medschool so no reason for you all to have to be studying 24/7.
 
I watched this while I was on the can, and I still would like to have back those 4 minutes I wasted.

Why do medical students still make dumb parody videos? The Undacova Gunnaz are the only folks who ever made good ones. Everyone else should give up. Let us all watch one again.

Yes. Undacova Gunnaz and the stuff from Drexel are the only ones I can stomach anymore. Oh yeah, and GJF (although it's kind of old and slightly offensive to certain specialties)

I think there was one from JHU(?) that had some indian guy that could actually rap. That was pretty good. Since then there's been a steady stream of ones I don't find funny.

I'm ashamed to see my alma mater in this list.

I really hate these videos. They are rarely funny or interesting and most just induce cringing.

This is the only "parody" video that I've actually enjoyed. Mostly because I feel like it adequately describes the treatment quality of some of the hospitalists at our VA whose patients I've had the pleasure of taking care of on readmissions.

Being typical egotistical physicians and physicians to be, most are not nearly as entertaining or talented as they believe themselves to be. Sort of like looking at pictures of your friend's kids: they aren't really that cute to anyone but their immediate family.
