I am sorry for sounding like an idiot if I do! But for the love of God, I dont understand what this means. I have been googling after searchin here to get more information on the DO program but I think I got out of the whole scheme more confused than I started.
"D.O.s practice a "whole person" approach to medicine. Instead of just treating specific symptoms or illnesses, they regard your body as an integrated whole."
That is what DO offers over MD! Now if someone could explain to me what that means. The MD has better residency opportunities, more popular, sounds cooler but DO seems to fit my profile (if I think I have the right understanding of what DO really is). I am looking for a job where I get to build relationships with my customers (patients) along with the money, the prestige, and the satisfaction that comes with being a doctor (in no specific order haha).
So if someone could explain to me what that quote really means, and how a family physician with a DO would practice different than one with an MD (if not in actuality then maybe in theory) then I would really appreciate it.
Thanks! (more questions coming later =) )
