I am sorry for sounding like an idiot if I do! But for the love of God, I dont understand what this means. I have been googling after searchin here to get more information on the DO program but I think I got out of the whole scheme more confused than I started.

"D.O.s practice a "whole person" approach to medicine. Instead of just treating specific symptoms or illnesses, they regard your body as an integrated whole."

That is what DO offers over MD! Now if someone could explain to me what that means. The MD has better residency opportunities, more popular, sounds cooler but DO seems to fit my profile (if I think I have the right understanding of what DO really is). I am looking for a job where I get to build relationships with my customers (patients) along with the money, the prestige, and the satisfaction that comes with being a doctor (in no specific order haha).

So if someone could explain to me what that quote really means, and how a family physician with a DO would practice different than one with an MD (if not in actuality then maybe in theory) then I would really appreciate it.

Thanks! (more questions coming later =) )

A DO could incorporate osteopathic manipulative medicine into their practice in order to offer patients the most complete comprehensive healthcare.

And BTW, if you want money and prestige, medicine is NOT the way to go.

Are you joking? being a doctor deff comes with the prestige! as far as the money, maybe not so much because of all the B/S but its still hot!

my cousin makes 500k after expenses being an orthodontist. my other cousin makes 800-900k after expenses as a physician. nigz just bought a million dollar house. what other career can you hit that?

hahahaha your crazy JP!

You can "hit that" with any career; it just might take a little longer. For instance:

You can make $900,000 after working for...

...16.07 years as a NYC sanitation worker.
...25.7 years as a teacher in Tennesee.
...6.0 years as the owner of a ladies hat store.
...50.02 years as the guy who says, "Would you like fries with that?"
...2.25 years as an upscale Las Vegas call girl.
...0.032 years (11.68 days) as Roger Clemmons.

Need I say more?

hahaha i guarantee u the guy who says 'would u like some fries with that' wont be making past 6 figs in his next 3 lives...maybe just maybe after his 4th one!

6 "figs" = $100,000

If a McDonalds employee makes $25,000 then he would hit 6 "figs" in 4 years.

But only if you have the Queen of England as one of your customers.
