This is to inform you that your application file is now complete and no further information is needed from you at this time. Our Admissions Committee will be reviewing your application file shortly. Because of the large number of applications, a decision may take a relatively long period of time.

Interviews are mandatory and by invitation of the Admissions Committee only. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted via e-mail. Note: A deadline to respond will be attached. The Committee schedules interviews on Mondays and Fridays starting in August and ending in February. Only individuals who are being seriously considered for admission are invited.

Last year, we received approximately 2,734 applications for our 85 positions. This year class size is being increased to 120. Although a decision has not been made about the status of your application, we are unable to interview all the well-qualified applicants. Understand that we will continue considering you for an interview throughout the entire 2010 admissions cycle.

We appreciate your promptness in supplying the follow-up credentials and will contact you if and when your status changes. Thank you for your interest! Best wishes in your quest to become a dentist.

No, it is not a good sign. They are saying they have not even looked at you at all yet. They just made a file in the cabinet for you.

I got that email July 30th and was invited for an interview on September 1st so its not a bad sign, just standard email saying they have your stuff.

actually Louisville is all electronic so there is no files in cabinets.
You file is finally got processed to the next stage- placed under review "on the table" so to speak or power point presentation in reality. If you do not hear from Louisville by the end of Oct it is probably means that your appl is not being considered for interview, right now.
Louisville doubled their OOS seat numbers got incoming year so all bets are off regarding how they did it previous years. So far their method is to review set of applicants every week or so and "trickle down" invites every week. They either done with pre Dec invites or have very few left by now. Most likely they would continue invites all the way into Dec- Jan. Dec 1 is the big day when they try to notify everyone who interviewed about their status. Jan 15 is the big day when schools cound their deposits and offer second wave of acceptances and possibly send another round of interview invites.

Seriously, though. I'd take it as a good sign. It can happen that you receive nothing at all. I mean, some people have been in the boat where their application gets totally blown off until the next cycle. 🙂
