Hey guys,

So I called my top schools today to follow-up on my application since it's been "complete" for a while. I figured if I haven't gotten an interview invite from them and we're so close to December, it must mean that I got rejected and they're waiting till December 3rd to tell me. But instead, they told me that my application is still under review, no final decision has been made, which is basically where I stood 2 months ago. Yet, there are many people who have applied much later and are getting interviews from those same schools (and some who have gotten rejections too). How come it's taking so long for them to look at my application? I don't understand what that means; if they have a "rolling basis" admissions, wouldn't my application already be looked at by now?

Has anyone from past cycles had this type of situation and got a post-December interview maybe? I was 9th batch and my application has been complete for over a couple of months now..

Thanks for the input 🙂

Also, here's a poll for you guys; I'd really like to know what people think of this:
So I applied to many schools, and I only got one interview as of now.. thankfully, it's at one of my favourite schools. However, I think if I improve one section of my DAT, I might possibly have a better chance at getting an interview from other schools too in case this one doesn't work out.. But if I retake the DAT, there's always the chance of doing worse for a reason or another, which means a risk of ruining my chances at the one favourite school that did give me a chance.. Would you retake or not?

So much in common lol. Great DAT score except for one section, applied to many schools and only 2 interviews (1 at my top choice) and all schools have me under review. I'm curious to hear what people think about a DAT retake at this point.

Nobody on this forum knows for sure what your situation "means". But i will speculate... it could mean a lot of things: Have you paid all your secondary fees? Did you verify they recieved your secondary or check? They might like you, but not enough to offer you a pre-dec interview. They could have "list" of people they want to interview based on your stats/app and they just haven't gotten to you yet. It could mean you are rejected. Just hang tight and ride it out... sorry for the wait.

Secondly, I don't think you should retake your DAT unless you don't get in this cycle. It is a solid score and might squeak you in. If not, just retake before next cycle.

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yes, I did pay all the fees and as I mentioned, my application has been "complete" (as per the confirmation e-mail they send after you submit secondaries, or when they've received all your documents).. which is why I didn't understand what it meant to be complete for the last two months and yet no interview/rejection.. I guess you're right, all I can do is sit and wait like everyone else.. I guess that "list" scenario makes sense, if they put me in that list based on stats but didn't really "review" my whole file.. guess that makes sense.. I just couldn't understand how you have my file there for 2 months and you haven't reviewed it lmao
