I graduated from gettysburg college in 2004 with a 2.89 cum gpa and a double major in psychology and business management. Needless to say, i did not take many sciences besides bio I and II which i recieved Bs in. I am currently enrolled in the Rutgers post-bac program. I have also started volunteering in a hospital emergency room. My question is, what else can i do to help make myself a better candidate for med school (besides the obvious like aceing my post-bac and doing well on the MCAT)?

any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Are you working while doing your post-bac? Maybe you could get a medically related job like working as a research assistant in a lab or working in a more clinical position as a CNA or EMT (although you will need to take a class and get certified for these).

You should also try to get some leadership experience, maybe by becoming an officer for a local non-profit org or one of the clubs/orgs at your school.

Also, you may want to shadow some docs in your free time, preferably docs in a variety of specialties and maybe a DO if you are interested in DO schools.
