I went to the Walgreens today to ask about shadowing, but they require me to bring the license.
I am looking for the license right now, but there are 3 options: Pharmacist, Pharmacist Technician, and Pharmacist Intern.
Which license do I have to apply to shadow?
Also, how long will it take to get the license?
Thank you.

They probably want you to have a technician trainee license. It will allow you to have access to patient information as well as handling the medications. You can upgrade to technician once you pass the national exam.

Pharmacy Technician license takes 6-2 years in either college depending on the program and the costs vary OR
passing the PTCE (129$) , which is the national certification and paying the licensing fee for your state.

Both programs allow you to do an internship but passing the test you can start as soon as the licenses goes through, which takes about 2 months.

Now some states allow for a clerk position while working on the Pharmacy Tech License, but it looks like Walgreens doesn't have that option. I hope this helps!

You don't need to go through any schooling to become a pharm tech. Apply for tech trainee, do your shadowing, and start studying for the PTCE on your own. If you need help studying for it, PM me - I provide free tutoring.
