I looked at my verified application and saw about 20 different gpa calculations. Among them there were "Cumulative Undergraduate Science," "overall science," "Baccalaureate Science," "cumulative undergraduate," and "overall."

Which ones are the important ones?

Also, my overall science is slightly lower than my undergraduate science gpa but I have never even taken and post-bac or graduate classes. Did that happen to anyone else?

Insight from @Goro would be nice here. Do you as an adcom see all these different gpas when looking over an application?

cumulative GPA's and sGPA's...

Yes, they see all the different GPA's, but they probably mostly look at overall cGPA and sGPA.

Most applicant's sGPA"s are lower than their cGPA by a tad bit. If its a lot lower though, that will raise eyebrows.

For example a 3.65 scpa makes sense with a 3.71 cGPA.

A 3.2 scgpa with a 3.71 though looks really bad.

Yeah I understand that, but on my application it says:
Undergraduate science GPA: 3.52
Overall science GPA: 3.47

I don't understand how my sGPA went down by 0.05 points when the only classes I've taken are my undergrad classes. No post-bacc or grad classes at all.

yea thats a bit odd. I would call them.

We look at all of them, but pay very careful attention to sGPA, and gGPA for anyone doing a post-bac. It is very common for sGPA to be lower than cGPA, probably due to the toll that Organic Chemistry takes on pre-med students.

Yeah I just did. The rep agreed that my sGPAs should be identical and submitted a request to a verifier to correct it.
Did you ever get an answer for this? I'm trying to figure out why my overall science gpa is higher than my cumulative undergrad gpa when I haven't taken any grad courses.

Yeah I called and explained the issue and got it resolved. It was fairly easy.

my sgpa is a 3.38 and cgpa is 3.64 on aacomas :/ weird because my sgpa is in the 3.5 on AMCAS
i hope the gap wont keep me from getting IIs

What about a 3.45 cGPA with a 3.28 sGPA, is that a drastic difference? 😳
(With an upward trend in the last quarters)

It's not great but it's not drastic. I'd call it borderline.

my AMCAS spread is 3.42 sGPA, 3.79 cGPA. Don't stress about it...

LMU-DCOM, KYCOM, and LUCOM (gasp I know lol)

I applied to LUCOM too:whistle: A med school is a med school. Congrats! Hopefully goro doesn't see this or we're doomed🤣

Although LUCOM gets some shame on this forum, if it meant going to LUCOM over not going to a medical school, I'd go to LUCOM in a heartbeat.

The only thing that worries me is that they aren't fully accredited yet. Once they get full accreditation, I'll consider then on equal footing with the rest
