Do they just skip over you and call you at a later time if there are still spots left? I'm a little worried about it since I'll be abroad for two months.

They leave a message, but I can't imagine them waiting more than a week for you to respond to it... Have someone check your phone!!!!

Make sure you provide them with a phone number of someone who can reach you in an expedient manner (parent, sibling, etc). I guess it would depend on the school, but they should make several attempts before giving up. My student host at UVM was out of the country when they called him; he came back to find eight messages on his answering machine. Luckily, they had held the spot for him.

I have been out of town and a school called with an offer while I was away. I got the message and called back Immediately though. Make sure you have someone check your messages and get back to the schools ASAP. Although they may wait a week or so, they also have a time schedule to abide by, so don't keep them waiting too long.

Thanks guys, I just sent them my dad's work number. I can't believe I forgot about it.
