What has been the usual turn-around time for scores?

I'm going nuts. I really don't have any idea how I did. I'm pretty sure I didn't fail, and I'm pretty sure I didn't do extraordinarily well... but I'd really like to just see the darned number, already.

I'm sure once we all start rotations in July we'll be too busy to worry about our scores!

Took mine May 19th, scores were released yesterday, I had been expecting to wait until July 18th.

Well at least this proves there is some hope. They probably put up the july 18 mark so that in case there are unforseen delays, they wont have 5000 people calling and bitching at them. If you get your score sooner then you can be pleasantly surprised. But yeah...5 weeks of potential waiting is going to suck. 👎

Is getting something in the mail the only way to know when scores have been released? Or is there somewhere online that will say when scores have been mailed out?

I believe if you go to NBME site where you printed your permit and all that, in the column "score release date" or something like that it will give you a date if your test has been graded, but im not sure how reliable that is as far as when you will actually get your score. They usually release it electronically to your school and then the school will call you or post your score somewhere.

I predict that this will be become the "Official 2007 WHERE THE HELL ARE MY SCORES?" thread.

Jeez, its only been a week since I took a test and Im already starting to get OCD. Im never gonna make it 5 more wks...

maybe someone posted this already but do we only get to see our scores when they come in the mail or can we see them on our nbme site before the letter comes?

At my school, our administration emails them to us as soon as they get them (a few days before we do). It seems like that's true for many other schools as well; perhaps you should ask one of your upperclassmen?

just to add - took it on may 18th and scores were released a couple days ago. so I guess there is "hope" (if you really wanted to know, I suppose) for those who took it early in that may 18 - late june time frame.

Google the "oasis trick." It's a way that you can find out if you passed or not before you get the report in the mail. It doesn't give you a score, just that you passed. It usually works sometime around the time they are getting ready to send it to you anyways, so I don't know the benefit. Apparently, you go online and try to schedule the step, like you did the first time. A screen will pop up and say that you can't schedule because you already passed it. If you get the screen that lets you schedule......BAD NEWS FOR YOU!

Remember I think it only works around the time they are going to send you scores anyways. Here is link to discussion about Oasis.

Maybe, or it could also mean that your student affairs office has your results electronically. For step 1 and step 2 when the website said mine was released I just called my SAO and they emailed me my score, the actual report came about 1-2 weeks later.

At my school, students have noticed that their scores are released on Wednesday (according to the NBME status page online) and they then receive them by post on Friday or Saturday. I took the test on 21 May, saw that my scores were released on 13 June and then received them in the mail on 16 June. The general trend has been that scores are recieved 3-4 weeks after sitting for the exam, even for those who took it after May 17. Hope that helps.

I took my exam on May 29 and haven't received my scores yet. According to some of the other entries on SDN if we lat Mayers are lucky our scores should be reported to our Dean's office tomorrow and we should be receiving the results by mail by Friday or Saturday. If not I think we will definitely have our scores in my next week. Wishfull thinking? maybe... 🙂 But damn I can't wait to get my results so that I can close this chapter of my life. 😳

Gotta wait at least one more week. The site has been updated to the 20th of this month and no reporting date for me. Torture!!! :scared:

After you log into the NBME website, it's under "check exam status." Apparently the "reported score date" changes from blank to the date that your scores were released.

I think they are using us as guinea pigs

"Correlation of alcohol and sex with longer waiting period to receive your grades"
or
"Increase in the incidence of depression and maniac OCD with longer waiting period to receive your grades"

Second that motion. I read some of your other threads elsewhere GOGETA so I know you and i both gave our exams on May 29. I wish your spirit was contagious because the suspense is killing me. So what do you think? ANy chance we get it next week?

everyday i get farther away from this test, i am dying inside. i keep thinking about the questions i missed after i look them up. this sucks so bad right now

That sounds like something I'd do too! I've opted to remedy that by immediately going on a vacation right afterwards. And instructing those I'm traveling with that I'm not allowed near a computer with Internet access 😛

It's like every week is a new round of stress that causes more wrinkles, less hair, and a deeper ulcer. This is not why I got into medicine dammit!!! 🙂

July 4 is wednesday, and wednesday is the day they send out grades.
That means no grades for July 4😱😕

So they better have my grades for this wednesday because they

Oh in that case study hard and hope you do well. And I think its a great idea to get away on vacation. My broke ass on the other hand feels like I am sitting in a bunker waiting for a bomb to drop... :laugh: Have a good one...

Is it just me or is it eerily quiet in this forum today? I guess along with me you all are patiently waiting for your results... 😳 To all those who are waiting, as soon as I find out whether the scores have been released I will post it on this thread. Please do the same. 👍

Well i know im not up for at least another week at the earliest...and then apparently there are no reports sent out next week because of the holiday, so im looking at the 11th

From the looks of this thread, the latest scores that have been released are from May 29. Has anyone else who took the test after that gotten a score? Took it on June 9th, and saw that a May 29 was released on June 14, so I'm getting a little nervous...

I wouldn't be nervous yet. The scores that were release on June 14 were from May 19, not May 29. No one to my knowledge has received scores from May 29. I took mine on May 26 and haven't heard anything.
