hi,
i am in the process of preparing for the Part 1.
im not so sure if i am doing things alright at the moment, so i jsut came to wonder if i will be able to re-sit the ones if the scores aren't too pleasing. (i hope this is not the case..but im just curious.)

for example, if i fail the Anatomic Sciences then can i retake this subject only instead of taking the whole Part 1 again?
If this is the case, will the old scores show on the transcript in any way?

replies will be appreciated!

I dont know if the old scores will show up but I am sure it'll be mentioned that you took one particular exam twice. One the other hand if you were to pass all the exams with low scores and want to re-take, then no previous scores will be shown.
Also if you were to fail only in one particular subject you will be allowed to re-take only the failed part, you can't withdraw the passed section.
My suggestion would be to take part 1 only when you think you are 100% prepared. It really doesnt make a much of a difference if you take it in dec or june anymore as most deadlines are prior to dec so you will have to wait till next aug to apply to all the schools anyways.

alright, thanks lots!
but i am already registered for the Part 1 that will be held this Dec. i am just taking it for the sake of experience since i am only in the 3rd year of dental school. (well, i am planning to apply for adv. standing programs in 2 yrs.) if i score pretty satisfactorily, i dont think i will retake things in part 1, but im just worried that i dont have enough time left for preparing for Anat. (my finals are coming up soon, and i also need to study for the finals too...)

WHAT SHALL I DO???

i am pretty okaily prepared for the rest 3 exams, but not the Anat. please, give me some advice!

thanks!
