*Noob Question Alert*

well im wondering on behalf of a friend

his cc has pharm tech but not pre pharmacy, he plans on being a retail pharmacist but hes not sure what he should do, whould he be ok taking the tech class or what.

his plan was 2+4

He needs to take all of the pre-pharmacy classes in order to get in. Being a tech alone won't get you anywhere. Tell him to check out the other local cc and see what they have to offer.

ok cool ty for the quick response now get back to ur bat cave 😉

Was that a compliment or an insult?
I think you meant to say get back to Gotham city. 😀

most schools don't offer "pre-pharm" classes. Pre-pharm classes are usually the same classes needed for a bio degree w/ some minor difference. Check with the pharmacy school he wants to apply to as to which classes he needs to take. Then take the list of pre-req's to the CC counselor and see what classes that school offers.

Your school should offer the majority of the pre-req's. However, there will be a few classes that your friend will need to take elsewhere if it isn't offered.

Pharmacy school will not waive those classes just because its not offered, nor will they let you take another class in place of the classes not offered (unless they specifically say they do).

My cc doesn't offer pre-pharmacy either, but their AA in Biological Science also covers all the required courses for pharmacy school, so I just chose that as my major. Tell him to review all the curriculums for the science department at his cc, I'm sure their is one that he can major in to complete his prerequisites.
