This is a misnomer. No Dental School is easy to get into. They are all competitive for different reasons. There is no easy road to dental school.

obviously they are in order

o'rly

so UoP and UCLA have a higher avg DAT score then Columbia 🙄

According to predents

Columbia = 22+
UCLA = 21.38
UoP = 21.1

And according to the last official rankings I saw posted Stony Brook led the league with a 22 avg
then Columbia and UCLA were tied with a 21
everyone else was 20 or sub 20

Not sure how Harvard ended up with a 20 AA avg in that ranking tho😕

yeah, bc every single person who gets into dental school reports on pre-dents... 🙄 go buy the adea book and check that out

Columbia has the highest DAT scores for the incoming class of 2013

i dont believe that 2008 list. i cant believe that harvard's AA is only 20.

Don't tell me you are concluding that from predents.com 🙄

It is impossible to have the official statistics for the 09 entering class at this point of time or you are just showing some love to columbia 😉

Yup, i was surprised as well. What can I say, these are the official numbers.

2008 ADEA Official Guide

Columbia 22.3
UoP 20.6
UCLA 22

u mad?

Harvard, Columbia, and UCLA are the only schools with a 22 or above AA avg....no clue where Washington and UoP came from to get ranked above them lol

credit goes to doctoothache for posting the tables

Like everyone else noted its impossible to have accurate 2009 numbers already....gotta go by the 2008 for the moment

lol, why are you arguing semantics? are you trying to say that the table posted in this thread is not in a general order from lowest average DAT score to highest average DAT score? you seem to have completely missed the point here. who really cares which of the 5 top schools has the highest average DAT, i mean, im pretty sure my previous comment about them being in order applies...especially if you read it in context to the comment i was replying to.

ah..2009 ADEA Official Guide is based on the 08' entering class. And the link you gave was for the 07' entering class.

But if you meant by 2009 numbers as the 09' entering class, you are quite right. 🙂

Nope, not from predents..it was reported in the Columbia Dental School newsletter..

Do you have a link to this? I'm really curious how Columbia came up with this haste conclusion. 😕 As you know the 08-09 application cycle is not over, and the wait-lists are still active.

i understand your reservation..i read it in the newsletter and also heard it from members of class of 2012..when i get a chance i could scan the article🙂

By "easiness"

NYU
USC
Western/MWU
NOVA/BU/TUFTS

For public schools, regardless of residency,
Michigan

NYU, USC, UoP
UoP easy? You have got to be kidding me. They give out ~200 interviews a year for 140 seats out of 3000+ applicants. If anything they are among the hardest schools to get into.

USC, NYU, and Western to answer the OP's question

What you seem to be overlooking is the reality that you could most likely BUY a spot in any number of schools in developing countries for less than the price of your AADSAS application.

If ease of entry is all that concerns you, my friend, your options are plentiful.

every dental school has a ton of applicants and few seats, it doesn't really say anything. UoP has among the highest average entering DAT scores and among the lowest average entering gpa's, which means its probably average to get into. but all these comparisons are silly, because difficulty of dental school acceptance is pretty tightly clustered except for the extremes.

also to OP, NYU, USC, louisville

Agreed. The person who claimed UoP is an easier school to get into must be slow. It's one of the most difficult. Chances of getting an interview there are probably lower than the chances at any other dental school.

The hardest schools for a white person to get in to is howard and meharry

With incoming DAT of 20, 20 & 20.3, respectively, and ranked #11, 7 & 4, respectively, for highest incoming DAT of Fall 2008, I would hardly say those are the "easiest".Source.

That just means you don't know how to get into their school.
