Ok gang, i have a stupid question..

what exactly is a Post Bacc program?? does it lead to some sort of certificate or something???

Hi Comet,
This is what I find :

Year-Five Post-Baccalaureate Studies
Year-Five Post-Baccalaureate Studies at Agnes Scott provide an opportunity for students to complement their undergraduate program by broadening studies in their major, exploring new academic areas or completing prerequisites related to graduate studies and career preparations. The 2003-2004 program is available on a tuition-free basis only to Agnes Scott students who received their bachelor of arts degree in May 2003.

I don't know exactly what it is.

no certificate. Just a chance to boost your GPA or fulfill prereq requirements for dental school. You are taking undergrad courses and since you already have a degree, you don't get anything but (hopefully) a better GPA.

That's not true for all of them. I'm getting a second bachelors degree with mine. It's a Bachelors of Science in biomedicine. I was an English major in college.

Thanks everyone for the replies. i did some research on the topic and realized that for most cases you are supposed to finish about 33 credits to finish the program and at the end you will be given a piece of paper.. not a degree.. just something indicating you finished the program.

mcataz, 2nd bachelor's degree is different from a Post-bacc program. the bachelor program is focused and you will be given a B.S degree at the end whereas in the post bac program you can choose what you want to take. in your case, i assume, there is flexibility to transfer the credits from one program to another.
p.s when are you re-taking the DAT??? where you able to get the kaplan's flash cards?? i just found mine!

good luck to all.

Mine is both since the program is two years long and all the classes are upper-level to graduate level courses that aren't offerred in most college programs. They modeled our post-bacc after the basic sciences of the DO program. So we are in baby medical school. It's not as difficult at the DO classes but it's certainly harder than upper level biology classes held at a university. There are no general biology or lower level biology classes in my program. To qualify for my program, you need a minimum of 60 hours with all med/dental school pre-req's already taken. Most of us already have degrees and thus it's a post-bacc program. Furthermore, like all other post-bacc programs, we have a linkage program with our DO school. If you don't want the degree, you can take any classes at any time. You don't have to follow a certain order or anything. It's just that if you do want another degree, you can get it. So I was like: "Why the hell not?" I was an English major. If I don't get in somewhere hopefully that B.S. can help me get a job in research in the mean time.

I have never take the DAT. October baby!!!! YeeeeeAAAHH

I got the Kaplan Flash Cards from Marshall. Thank You Marshall. Of course, I did pay him $50 for the darn things.

Good luck with the DAT buddy😉

 I sold my flash cards for $30:laugh: Who'da best sella:clap:

i was gonna ask $20 for mine and i had so much guilt!!! thanks for taking the guilt off of my shoulders!
