Sorry, never heard the term and don't understand 3rd batch 4th batch etc...

Dental schools review applications in batches of hypothetically 200 apps then the next 200 depending on how early the applications were submitted. 1st is the earliest possible.

AADSAS mails out completed applications every Friday. The 1st mailing was sometime in June. This upcoming Friday will be the 4th Friday on which AADSAS will be mailing out apps. This will continue until the end of the cycle.

Completed and updated applications are not continuously fed to the schools. If your app goes complete today or DAT scores show up or letters show up, the schools don't see it that right away. Apps are periodically compiled into batches and distributed to schools.

For simplicity, we'll say it is done once a week (1st batch goes out, 1 week later 2nd batch goes out, etc.).
