Ok, I'm really starting to get scared. My stats are:
GPA is 3.51/3.53 (O/S)

DAT
Perceptual- 19
QR- 18
RC- 18
Bio- 20
Chem- 20
O-chem- 22
TS- 21
AA- 20

My AADSAS was submitted on Jul. 26th although I took the DAT late on Sept. 12. So far, I've only gotten an interview invite for one school on Jan. 10, nothing else. What is going on?? Do dental schools hate me?? Sigh, I generally have very bad luck and get screwed in everything in life so I have a feeling I'm going to get screwed in this too. Sorry if I sound a little crazy, but I'm starting to freak out :scared:.

Whats the rest of your application like? i.e. research, shadowing, community service, teaching, etc, etc.

Regmata's right, just relax. Assuming you did more than study and party in college, you should be fine. 😉 The interview process is just beginning and will continue until around March or April. No school fills their class in December.

Well, my ECs are pretty typical I think, nothing spectacular- shadowed a dentist, researched at a pharmaceutical company, was a bio TA, involved in a few clubs, etc.

It's just very disheartening to only receive 1 invite so late and see that most people on SDN are already done interviewing for all their schools.

I think that your DAT scores are a little low, and your application wasn't complete early enough (I know you submitted in July, but it wasn't compete until your DAT was finished).

Applicants must understand that it is a much easier application process if you submit your entire application early. That doesn't mean late-comers don't have success, because they certainly can, but why risk it with added stress?

I would call the schools and make sure they have received your applications. Ask them the status of your application while you are at it.

his DAT was low?

im sorry but a 20/21/19 is not a low score. Dont dismotivate the op even more. Get of your high horse dude. To the op, you will get called, you have very good stats, just wait.

I think your late DAT date is what is holding you back. If you don't get in this cycle, apply early in May next year and you should have no problem getting several interviews. During this time you may want to add to your EC's. Anyway good luck!!

It's low for a Sept app completion date.

FYI, ItsGavinC's a former mod on here. I THINK he went to ASDOH.

I agree that it is because of the late DAT.. at this point, schools are likely still reviewing July/August applications, and it will take a bit for them to get to your Sept batch. Don't worry, just be patient. There is no reason to give up on a school until you receive a rejection letter.

Your DAT is not low, it is very solid score even for applying later. Better to have good scores and later application than early and lower scores. I agree with other posters that the late responses from dental schools is most likely due to have the DAT completed later. The fact that you've received one interview is great news, though! I imagine you can expect more to come.
Good luck!

I think it depends on the school...my application didn't finish processing and getting sent out to the Texas schools till the first week of October, but San Antonio sent me an interview Oct 17. I think each school varies on how quickly they go through applications, but I'd like to think at this point they'd be finished looking through apps from July? but I dunno 😛
