What is is like getting hired by optometrists or ophthalmologists?

Can anyone with this kinds of experience give me an insight for this issue?

I know getting hired by walmart/sears can be very brutal sometimes. However, I am wondering it would be same or better if you get hired by optometrists or ophthalmologists?
