OK, I know in general what this program at Harvard consists of, in terms of the curriculum listed on their website...but I am interviewing there next week, and I can't seem to find much of any general information about how this program is different from programs at other schools.

I'd like to know this for interviews, but also just for myself, so I can decide where to go in the lucky instance that I do get to choose!

I expect that the interviewers will think I've researched Harvard pretty well...but I don't know where to find this information (I will check the MSAR, but I know that's pretty brief too)... anyone have any ideas or advice?!

Thanks,

Hey karen44!

Did you get a brochure/bulletin from Harvard? It mentioned a great deal about the difference between that and the HST program they have with MIT. New Pathways concentrates a good deal on PBL and self-guided learning.

These links may help. I really liked the idea of Academic Societies. They remind me of the 4 houses in the Harry Potter series because they separate the students in groups of similar interests. That fosters a great learning environment.

I wish you the best of luck at your interview! 🙂

Thanks, those links are really helpful, just what I was looking for...I'm still don't understand why I wasn't able to find them on my own...maybe not looking hard enough 😕

But thank you, I will definitely print these out and read them carefully.

Oh, also, I just realized that I did get a brochure...talk about disorganized! Well, I've been working like crazy to get my essay done, transcripts sent, etc. for a scholarship, so I haven't spent any time preparing for this interview yet. But I plan to mail my scholarship application off tomorrow, and from then on it's "preparing for Harvard" time! 😉
