I'm not following you about half-credit versus full credit. But a semester hour means classroom hours per week per full semester term. In a semester rather than a quarter system, a 3-hour course means that you will spend 3 clock hours per week in the classroom for the entire semester, generally 16 weeks. At least that's the theory - I've taken science courses that actually required 5 clock hours per week in class/lab, but only grant 4 hours credit - which is annoying.
oh, for the halfcredit vs fullcredit, we dont count the hours, we just get 0.5 credit for a course that lasts 1 sem (4 months), 1.0 credit for a course that lasts 2 sem (8 months),
