I feel like I am starting to develop it due to pain in my wrists and pulsating paying along my arm.

I know med school will require even more out of me.

So what do you guys do to prevent wrist problems?

Have you seen a physician about it? They would be the best person to offer help to prevent it from getting any worse.

You could try switching over to a joystick mouse.

Trying so hard not to be dirty right now..

You can always get those fancy keyboards that are better for your hand. Or see a doctor about it.

To prevent hand/wrist pain while writing, fountain pen > everything

I have very mild symptoms. I find that wearing a Velcro wrist splint at night helps immensely (advice from orthopedic surgeon).

Which sized nib and pen do you use? I was running a Lamy Safari w/ an extra fine nib; after a month of use I felt it exacerbated my wrist issue. I'm still open minded to trying a new pen. The only thing I still use the Safari for is my planner. I can fit a lot of text into small boxes w/ the extra fine nib.

I use a fine nib pilot metropolitan. I can write for hours with no discomfort at all, which is much more than I can say for the ballpoints I used to use. Don't have to apply any pressure to the paper at all, and the ink just flows right out

Try to take breaks often and do various stretches/hand exercises to help loosen and relax the muscles. I didn't get carpal tunnel but I did get a ganglion cyst from continued repetitive hand motions (I'm a digital artist) and ended up needing surgery to fix it. Talk to your physician about it or see an orthopedic doctor before it gets worse!
