I was curious if anyone happened to have any figures on how many residency spots remain empty each year or if anyone had a general idea, it would be helpful.

Thanks.

for some reason i cannot view the unmatched programs. i registered but i am not allowed to view. do you guys know what the problem could be?

54/1037 were unfilled in the 2006 Match.

But those 54 spots were eventually filled during the scramble??I'm assuming this is what happened. Does anyone know if those spots were not filled?

Many of those spots probably did get filled in the scramble. And new spots open up from time to time as well. The APA maintains a clearinghouse of psychiatry residency training program vacancies here.

Surprised to see UCLA on the list. Anyone on this forum know why they have a vacancy?

Cheers

All of them were filled...within a few wks I think, the number was down to ZERO. But apparently spots do open up later on - looking at the Clearinghouse, I'm surprised to see PGY1 openings. Must be competitive though.
