Can someone tell me what is the hybridization of the nitrogen atom?
I know Nitrogen is attached to 2 carbons 1 hydrogen and it has a set of lone pairs so I though it would be in the Sp3 orbital however the answer says Sp2. Why is that? Do you not count the lone pair of electron?

Its actually a Pyrrole. But I still don't understand why they didn't count the lone pair electrons?

The lone pair of the nitrogen atom is delocalized throughout the ring to give pyrrole its aromatic property, so it's not counted as part of the sp2-hybridization.

Pyrrole is planar and aromatic so it can't be sp3, must be sp2. The lone pair gets delocalized to keep it aromatic.
