What is the purpose of us entering in our grades into the AMCAS?

That is lame! We already have to send in our transcripts! My sister is going to apply to law school, which also uses a distrubuting service, but they don't require anyone to enter in grades. Does AMCAS want us to enter grades so that if we make a mistake our application will be delayed, hence less competitive?!!! ARRGGHH!

Probably helps speeding up the checking the grades.

It lets them calculate out the science GPA. if you only sent in the transcripts they would have to comb through each course and figure it all out themselves, delaying the process
