Does anyone know if these blank statuses actually MEAN anything, or are they arbitrary? My Buffalo status is now blank, but Maryland still says "invited for interview" and I hear some other people saying theirs is blank. What a tease....

I'm dying to know too, I can't believe there's not a theory out there based on past years' experiences.....
I don't think the blank statuses mean anything really. I mean my status still says "invited for interview" from NOVA, but didn't they already send out a lot of rejections/ waitlists? I live in Florida and would've thought that I would've heard something by now..
Total guess but this would make the most sense from a programming stand point:
- There are multiple statuses that the school can change an applicant to in AADSAS.
- Most of these statuses will be displayed instantly (or in 1-2 months by AADSAS standards).
- The exception to this rule is an offer of acceptance, this will not show up until December 1st. If an applicant is changed to this status beforehand, they will show up blank.
- Just because someone doesn't have a blank, does not mean they aren't accepted. I'm sure certain schools will update AADSAS at different times, some schools not at all (we all know how this is).
- If this theory is correct, a blank status will indicate acceptance, but an unchanged status does not indicate anything, you may or may not be accepted in the future.
An alternate theory is that schools may just clear the status of those students already interviewed automatically (maybe they have a "clear all" command?) the day before and then manually put them in (rejected, waitlisted, accepted) on Dec 1st.
We should test this so next year's students are better informed!
