Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), the net was not around when I was in OD school. Nevertheless, I would have never dreamed of talking down, questioning and downright blasting practicing doctors when I was merely a lowly student.
I KNEW I didn't know enough to argue with a practicing doctor. What could I have possibly known as a 1st or 2nd year OD student?
So why do we have so many student here that question everything a licensed, practing OD says. We are here trying to help all of you. We are not bitter people trying to bring everyone down. You will be much better off knowing all there is to know. We are trying to give you all a very realistic view of what Optometry is all about such as:
Pros: Good money, Clean work, semi-security etc...
Cons: Corporate greed, constant back-stabbing from your colleagues and others, Redundency, Intense competition on every corner and alley, etc...
With all due respect and some undue, you students would do much better just asking questions and soaking in the knowledge and experience us seasoned ODs are willing to offer you instead of pretending you have your finger on the pulse of all optometry because you worked as a tech in some practice or whatever the case may be.
