How many quadrants of scaling & root planing do you have to do to graduate?
At Ohio State, our requirements were based on the re-evaluations. We had to have 4 re-evaluations following perio SRP treatment. The re-evals had to occur 4-12 weeks following treatment.
The re-evals were all on different patients. Many people finished this requirement during the 3rd year or early D4 year, and often ended up doing quite a bit more.
Our dental treatments were evaluated in phases, and we couldn't move on to and fixed or removable tx until all perio and restorative needs were addressed, evaluated, and 500 or so
signatures from instructors were obtained in the chart.
Overall, plenty of experience -- did not seem too difficult to finish the perio requirements well in advance of graduation. Crowns and dentures are what the majority of D4s were cranking out the last 2 quarters in our class. Probably like most schools.
