As for more wars,

Aren't we already fighting about three?

the war in afghanistan, the war in iraq, and the diplomatic war against iran. another war?

i think not. what we need is for bipartisan politics to stop destroying any attempt at progress. i mean look at the healthcare bill now: it is practically worthless.

I'm not sure if this was a mistake or not.

If not, I'm not sure what is scarier that you think bipartisan efforts are a bad idea or that what we have seen was actually bipartisan. Good lord. :scared:

I think he means getting rid of political parties completely, so people are forced to vote based on individual platforms instead of "is he red or blue?!" and public officials will act more "independently." It's not like liberals or conservatives even stand for what liberalism and conservatism imply anyway.

Unfortunately people love grouping random things together, if at all possible, so I'm not sure getting rid of political parties would even work 🙁

Besides, it keeps people from having to think 😀

so i've basically been watching the crumbling of america..
and i've basically after watching 3 episodes.. gotten the point..
America's infrastructure is falling apart.. the health care system is falling apart..
the 2003 blackout nearly left the northeast in the 19th century..
we're becoming a nation thats paralyses by its own-self
we don't even make anything in the U.S anymore.. everything is chinese and what not..

i mean.. what's going to give in 10 years? if a earthquake hits the west coast sacramento will be flooded.. and san fransico will be demolished..
whats next?
the hospitals will be in total disrepair and we'll be back to using needles and just boil them to sterilize?

who's worried about our nation?...
i mean.. we honestly need to re-energize the country..

I think I know the answer to this crisis in development....

I so regret finally coming into this tread after successfully ignoring it for so long. I think I lost 10000 brain cells just by finishing OP's first sentence.
This is so ridiculously dumb it makes me want to cry.

China has an active duty force of around 2.3 million while the United States has an active duty force of around 1.5 million, so it's actually less than 2x. China has a reserve force of around 800,000 while the U.S has a reserve force of around 1.5 million. You guys are thinking of China's PARAmilitary force, which is around 4 million strong. However, you need to keep in mind that paramilitary means things like the coast gaurd (and that's one of the more "powerful" examples). These guys (some of which are just normal police officers since in China they're counted as part of the military) are basically useless in actual combat situations. As for percentage, 11 (per 1000) U.S residents are in the armed forces while in China it's around 5.3 (per 1000). So we actually have a much larger percentage.

Also keep in mind that in modern warfare numbers are pretty much useless. It's all about weaponry. We spend nearly 700 billion a year on our military while China spends about 10% of that on theirs. I can gaurantee you China's outdated MiGs/T-54 tanks or even their new Su aircrafts won't stand a chance against an Abrams, Raptor, or the new Lightning II. Not to mention our surveillance/satellite technology is far more advanced. Air superiority means numbers don't matter. Remember that one B-2 spirit bomber+control of the air=thousands of dead soldiers in a matter of minutes.

It won't even get that far. The fact that we have nukes and China has nukes equates to mutual assured destruction, which means we'll never go head to head with each other.
