I am IMG and I need LORs but I don’t understand what types of LORs I should get. I don’t know what speciality I want to go into.

Are there any general LORs that I can get which works for all specialities? Can these put me at a disadvantage compared to specific LORs?

Is it possible to get 4 LORs during a period of 10 weeks?

Where can I get more information about LORs?

Try to get specialty specific LORs because they may increase your chances in a certain specialty. You can select which LOR's you want to use in ERAS and send in and use as many as you want.

You can get 4 LOR's if you start talking and writing to attendings that know you well asap. try to get good LOR's from directors if you can--I hear those carry more weight.

There is a lot of info on LOR's on this site under ERAS section of this forum. do a search and you shall find quite a bit of info on LOR's.
