What makes Kaplan Qbank unlike the real test?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The way they write their questions are nothing like the way NBME writes their questions. Their questions have the same content but their question writer does not know how to write an NBME question. Basically, while their questions have the exact same content and test the exact same things as other QBanks, the grammar and general format of their questions are nothing like Step.

Agreed. They're still useful though. I thought Kaplan's bank helped me memorize some drugs facts and bugs and solidified other high yield concepts. However, I also cannot tell you how many times I got questions on QBank that were so "WTF?" that I was almost pissed about them wasting my time asking me them. This is why I switched to the HY mode only when using it (about 1500 questions, instead of 2200). Though, there is are still some on there I can't imagine being important for boards.

However, it complements UWorld by helping you learn facts, but isn't a substitute for it. UWorld alone if you don't have enough time. UWorld + QBank if you think you do. If you're worried about splitting time between them...always prioritize UWorld.
