I plan on applying June 1st to medical school. I currently have a cgpa of 3.2 and sgpa of 3.5 with a strong upward trend (attended cc while in hs and failed, since then have done very well with 3.7's last year and most likely 4.0 this semester). I work as a nursing aide on surgical floor and have worked fulltime thru all of college supporting my family (wife and 2 kids). I will graduate in May and have a year off to work more since money is so tight. Im in the Kaplan online course and studying my a** off to get a high score. I have 100+hours volunteering at my church and will have been a substitute Sunday school teacher for 1 year at the time of application (teaches about 1-2x/month). I was a TA in one of my classes previously. Im part of Habitat for Humanity although lately I have had to work a lot so havent had much time for it. I know my EC's are lacking but its quite hard with full time school and full time work. Im hoping this will be viewed well with adcoms. What do you think Ill need on the MCAT to be competitive? Im looking at USD, UofMN, UND, midwestern schools...and some DO schools. Thanks!

Presuming you retook the failed classes, you might want to mention your AACOMAS GPAs as well.

For AMCAS MD schools, for All Applicants who applied with a 3.2 cGPA chances with various MCAT scores were as follows:

With a 30 MCAT, chances were 31%
With a 32, chances were 39%
With a 34, chances were 47%
With a 36, chances were 51%.

Data is not available that adjusts for a steep upward grade trend, but it is likely your odds would be somewhat better than those cited.

Even with a 25 on MCAT, you can expect invites from many DO schools. I can't comment on your particular MD schools, but you should compare yourself to the avg matriculant at them to give yourself an idea of what you need. It seems to me that a high >35 MCAT with low GPA is acceptable to some state schools.
Take the percentages given in the 2nd post with a grain of salt; that's for the entire nation, that applicant pool is much smaller than the total, and doesn't take into account URMs, who tend to fall into that statistical demographic.
