does anyone know which med schools have online exams?

Mine does... obviously the third year shelf exams are not online but all course exams for years 1 and 2 (minus anatomy/neuroanatomy practicals) are taken in the computer lab using a test delivery system that is pretty similar to what the USMLE will look like.

are your exams proctored? by online exams i meant those that you can take from home unproctored and that count for a significant portion of your course grade.

Yes they are proctored and NOT open book... in other words, they're real tests, just taken online. Sorry.

Why would ANY school do that??? Home online exams worth a large part of the grade that is ridiculous...

Anyway two units ago we had online quizzes that we could take from home and there were about 6 of them and together they were only worth 2% of the grade...here is the website http://www.self-test.net/ can use it and create a log in to monitor your progress, but obviously it is not going to be tailored to your exact coursework....the questions are taking from old exams

If anyone takes them I would like to know how those questions compare to your exams, just wondering if other med. schools have more difficult exams, ...

Premed here, but I recently interviewed at UT-Memphis and they have this format also.

UCLA's exams are online. We take them during a designated time slot, and they're proctored. Last block, in addition to the proctored online exam, there was an online open-book exam of 60 questions. It was pretty difficult.

MCG might be going to this. We were supposed to go to it this year but as they just made the entire campus wireless there were concerns about everything funcitioning properly ontime so they backed down. Hypothetically they would be taken on laptop in the classroom.

UMD - first and second year exams are online (with the exception of practicals and written portions of exams that require calculations)

Some of our exams are proctored online exams. We also have a couple classes with some online self-learning modules and corresponding quizzes that can be done at home, but they're not a significant portion of our grade.

We have online exams at UMich (with the exception of laboratory practicals). We work on an honor code system, without a proctor. There is a designated time frame in which the exam must be taken, and it has to be taken from school, in one of 3 computer labs. The only exception would be clinical skills written exams, which can be taken from home, also on the honor system.The online testing system is called "flex time" and for many of us at UMich, it's one of the best things about years 1 and 2 🙂

Looks like most of our exams 2nd year at MCW will be online, proctored in the computer lab. We've had a couple online assignments due so far, but no online, at-home exams.

UVM has proctored online exams during the first 1.5 years. Not sure about the clinical rotations.

all of yale's exams are online on an honor system. not that we have grades to begin with.
