Mine is : be honest with myself

I try to be honest on what I am bad at and what I don't know.

What about you guys? Just wondering how my fellow future dentists are going through this long battle

Study as if there is no second chance on the DAT....Having this mentality really got me cranking through all of Chad's videos, Destroyer problems, etc. fairly quickly and in time for my test.

Thank you, I will use that as motivation for me as well !

I am a pre-med so I don't have to take the DAT but what helps me is telling myself everyday that I will study harder than anyone in the state of Arkansas. Replace Arkansas with your state 😉

haha I actually tell myself to "live a better life than yesterday" and it kinda sounds like that! No?!

I always tell myself, "You Reap what You Sow." It helps me when I start being lazy like going on youtube and facebook too much haha

Nice one! Seems like most of people have humble mentality! (Or at least trying to be) hahaha

Ya, a "you get out what you put in" mentality I'd super important. We're all smart enough to be successful it's about how hard you work at it.

One of my favourite youtubers is Gary Vaynerchuk and he's always talking about how hard you need to hustle to be successful. Check out some of his videos you're looking for inspiration

I will!thank you!

Isometimes when I study I feel like I am shadow boxing... Studying for stuffs that will never show up for the exam. Especially when I am reading articles on scientific american. Lol. But I try to stat faithful that it will help me in reading section but i still have doubts :/ any advice?

I guess everyone is different but I do not study as if it was my last chance to take the test. It's unnecessary stress for me and I had that mentality the 1st time I applied. I was a nervous wreck. It was a nightmare tbh.

The 2nd time around, my entire mindset is different. I simply do my best. I make sure I prep to the very best of my ability and try to push if possible. This has yielded many positive grades especially in my post bac classes and an improvement in my overall well being. I intend to go into my DAT retake with the same mentality.

I kept reminding myself that with my low GPA, killing the DAT was probs my last hope for ever going to dental school. Stressed me out a ton but I think I work well under stress

You just gotta get in that FSU mentality. Drink some caffeine, throw on the headphones, and go ham!

"Follow the study schedule. No distractions. What are you still fuzzy about?...okay, focus on that for the next few days." 🙂

Hey do not ever lose your hope and dream. Wherever there is dream, there is hope. Keep dreaming and stay hopeful, and see you at dental school soon.

Aim for the stars and you will end on the clouds. Also, constantly remind yourself that you want success on the DAT more than you want to breath (but don't stop breathing, that would be bad).
