Just thought it'd be an interesting thread if people could post things NOT to do on test day or week of. We just spend so much time talking about studying and stuff (obviously), that I thought this might be a little different thread. Anyone with good stories whether you learned from experience or heard a story about someone who was a friend of a friend etc...anything from actual testing strategies to funny situations, what to bring, not bring, what not to eat, just anything that might be useful or entertaining!

Don't drink caffeine come test day. It will cloud your head and raise your anxiety. A little probably wouldn't hurt, but don't pound 2 red bulls.
I also couldn't really sleep the night before. Try and figure out a way to do that. It caught up to me in the middle of QR. I started having trouble formulating the proper equations for word problems and I would solve for wrong variables

No but Dwight did.

Aw, the laser tag bit automatically made me think of Barney.

Do NOT eat strange things, or normal things in strange doses. It sounds like common sense, but I learned that apparently, I can't eat large amounts of avocados without my stomach going berserk. I can eat small amounts. But not large amounts. And I found this out on test day.

Do NOT expect that you will have it together on test day. You will be frazzled. You will check and recheck that you have your chocolate pudding in your backpack for the tenth time. Put everything you need in a large Ziploc bag-- ID, granola bar, earplugs, etc.-- so that all you'll have to do on test day is grab the bag and go. I say Ziploc so that you can clearly see through the bag and see that everything is there. Feel free to use generic if you choose.

I remember the night before the test I didn't get any sleep. I was too worried. I wish I had taken some pill that knocked me out and let me sleep.

Now that I think about it, I dunno why I was worried, I mean it was my first DAT attept, if I had gotten a bad score, I coulda just retaken it, there was no reason for me to worry and I say the same to you... you have no real reason to worry so sleep well
