Can anybody tell me what other specialty is most related to dermatology or provides knowledge/research that is useful for dermatology? Thanks.

That's a tough one. ENT and Plastics overlap with Dermatology. There are parts of Medicine and ID. I think pretty much everything shares a little bit with derm (even psych).

I'd say ENT, Plastics, and Pathology share the most though. That's only my inexperienced opinion though.

Rheumatology - Psoriasis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Reactive Arthritis, Lupus, Sarcoidosis etc

ID - basically every viral and bacterial and fungal and parasitic infection

Peds - see ID, genoderms

Endocrinology - diabetes is a big one, other metabolic disorders such as hypercholesterolemia

Allergy and Immunology - contact derm, atopic derm

Oncology- hi, my name is skin cancer nice to meet you

I feel if you are a dermatologist, you are basically the internest surgeon and gp of all things related to the skin, which so far in my experience is everything

i love this field

It also depends which dermatologic sub-specialty you are thinking of.

Plastics/Reconstructive Surgery and Otorhinolaryngology are the two which overlap derm the most, in my opinion.
