I know this is program dependent and depends on the match algorithm, but I was curious how many/what percentage of acceptances will a residency want from its own Medical school? Is there a limit? When it comes to ranking an applicant, how is coming from its own Medical school factored in? how about coming from its own undergraduate program but going to medical school else where?
Is it just a tiebreaker if everything else is "equal"? or is secretly biased even more?
I'm guessing many programs could be in love with their own graduates.

The answer to your question is in the first 12 words of it.

That said, the program I attended tried to craft their match list such that no more than ~20% of the residents were from the school. They could have easily filled 80-100% of the class with kids from the home team but chose not too. It was kind of amazing that over the 6 years I was there and paying attention to the IM match list, 5 or 6 of the 30-35 interns were from the school.
