The waiting game sucks! Since it seems like most programs won't be getting back to us until March/April time frame, I figured it might be nice for us to discuss something besides stats and schools while we are in this nerve-racking waiting period 🙂

For me, I LOVE the geriatric population and would really enjoy working with them. However, I also am interested in neurorehabilitation, hand therapy, assistive technology, and acute care. What population/specialization are you interested in pursuing after graduation?

Great idea!

I am interested in rural populations and advocating for under-served communities. I would really like to do research as well and probably return to teach.

yes i agree, great thread idea! i think i will work with older people when i graduate. i could see myself working in a hospital, and maybe home health. i also like neurorehab and love the idea of helping people recover from brain injuries. i am keeping myself open to every population though, since i really only have my shadowing hours to base my opinion off of. i keep hearing that people realize where they want to be once they have some fieldworks under their belt.

i think the rural idea is very cool, sawyer.

I'm interested in working with elementary school aged special ed students. And during the summer break working for a birth-three agency. I observed both settings and fell in love with them.
