I was fortunate enough to be accepted into Penn and Columbia this week. Now the ultimate X School vs. Y School thread of all: who has the hotter guys? Penn and Columbia have come out pretty equal for me in terms of academics/opportunities/price, so now it comes down to its dating pool. Let's be honest, dental school in your 20s means it's just important to think about dating and maybe even marriage. So what school has more attractive guys, and what school has guys that are "marriageable"? Columbia you're in class with med students I guess, so that opens up a larger dating pool.

Thanks!!

When I was interviewing, Penn definitely had "hotter" guys, but they seemed "bro-y" and "fratty." Columbia, less so, but I didn't get to see the med students!

Poll's been added!

Guys, my matriculation seriously depends on my dating prospects. Please take this seriously.

Semi serious answer: They're more likely than not pretty comparable since they attract the same kind of people. It's true at Columbia you have the med students as well. I think you'll be good either way.

Lol!
Marriageable! Are you for real!
How can someone know which guy is marriageable or not and
to be honest, guys spot "desperate to get married" a mile away and run the other way!
You don't plan marriage, it just happens!

I think you better off thinking of which college will secure your future! which by the way both colleges are great!

Anyway, I would choose Columbia just because NYC has more opportunities to date new people , different people!

At the risk of sounding pretty weird, I've listened to a podcast or two bout mating/dating/sex ratios and that kind of stuff. NYC is terrible for young, professional women because they are in abundance compared to young professional males. It's so good for young professional males that they can be more selective and have more one-night stands due to the ratio in their favor.

Carry on.

You have a name/link for the podcast?

Thank you for sharing this info, but if we compare it to Philly, is it better or worse?

I believe it was on The Art of Manliness podcast, and it is in fact this I cant't recall the episode.

It didn't mention Philly, but did mention the Bay Area (SF) as the opposite, highly favoring women due to relative abundance of yo-pro males.

Good thing I have an interview at UCSF next month!

Lol...went to Penn for undergrad. A couple of pre-freshman my roommates and I hosted commented multiple times on the attractiveness of the student body. But I know there's at least one major article that talked about the prominent "hook-up culture" at the school, so take that as you will when you think of the marriagability of the men.

What's so wrong with being "bro-y"?
