i just wanna ask in order to buy the correct materials to study, i don't wanna waste money on them books which cost a lot, im gonna have winter break and the whole summer to study for it

btw, im doing my 3rd semester with bio-chem major, im planning to get my bachelor degree here, so when is the best time should i take the DAT then apply for dental school by the time i graduate, thanks a lot.

This has been answered a countless number of times. Crack dat pat, achiever, destroyer, topscore, kaplan, ap cliffs bio are good options.

If you are only a sophomore which it seems like (3rd semester biochem major) I would take your DAT this coming summer if I were you mid-late August. That way if you don't do as well as you want you have an entire year to boost your scores rather than waiting until the summer that you are planning to apply - a retake then can delay your application.

As for materials, if you are not going to take the Kaplan course (I didn't) I would recommend buying the newest Kaplan Blue Book online and learn DAT Destroyer cover to cover along with 1 or 2 practice test programs like Topscore or Achiever.

i agree with predent. definitely recommend kaplan blue book for some fundamental stuff, as well as cliffs for biology. use every study guide with a textbook by your side in case you need to look something else that you dont really understand. DESTROYER without a doubt, but remember, it is not a book to learn from. it is a book that you use to test your knowledge, and helps you learn how to think critically. after you have grasped a general knowledge for things, go for topscore or achiever.

and by the way, why the hell do some people on this forum get their panties in a freaking bunch if someone asks a question that has already been asked? get the hell over it people! you dont have to answer their questions if you dont want to, but your wasting more of your time being snooty then helping someone out. thats what this forum is for!

I think the best thing to do here is look at the breakdowns posted almost daily. Other pre-dents have been there and done that and you can learn from what they have learned.
