Hello
I applied this cycle and it has been very brutual. I was grateful to get one interview but I have not heard back yet. I honestly feel stuck at the moment. And I dont know how to move forward. I want to start with backup plans but I need some help. My stats are 4.0 and 515 (509-509-515) and I have hours in research, clinical and volunteering. I also worked with an MS2 and resident and also my friends and research PI for my essays. I am not sure what went wrong with my app leading to this outcome (do have low and short term clinical hours but did not expect the cycle to be this brutual). I would love if anyone can recommend a consulting company or even any adcom here on SDN to take a look at my app and tell me what to improve to prepare to reapply this next cycle. I am also worried about reapplying since most of my activities ended when I graduated in college (May 2024)! I was able to continue research (work as a research intern, some light volunteering for breast cancer walks and hospice). Am I cooked? If i have to reapply, I want to do it for the next cycle and I would like help on how to move forward. Also are there programs like the Tulane ACLP where if I do well in these classes, they offer an interview mid cycle and there is a chance to do medical school the following year? Thank you for all the help.

Your GPA and MCAT are great, no additional classes needed. I'd ignore Tulane's program.

We don't have a WAMC but I'm guessing 1 of a few things happened:
1. Your activities could be better — most commonly this is due to insufficient shadowing, clinical experience, or non-clinical service work.
2. Your writing could use improvement — I know you had some people look over them but the more, the better
3. Your LORs could be better — I doubt a letter writer would write something bad, but a lack of passion/good connections could make them weak
4. A poorly drafted school list or application timeline — This is generally easiest to fix
5. There's a hidden red flag in your application (maybe something disciplinary?) that went undisclosed, although this is unlikely

My suggestions would be:
1. Post a WAMC
2. Consult with your undergrad's pre-health advisors
3. Start figuring out where your weaknesses are ASAP and start working on them ASAP

Moving to WAMC. Agree that it seems like there's an issue with your activities, and a more complete profile would be helpful to know how many hours we're talking about here.

Also, based on your post history it looks like your one II was as an OOS student at a Texas school. Given this, your school list may have been suboptimal, so it would be good to know where you sent your app and when you were complete
