I graduated in May 2017. Since then I had been in private practice and studying for the CBSE. I scored a 64 on the CBSE last February. Since then, I have been looking for internship positions, but most are filled.
So the question is:

Should I continue in private practice and keep studying for the CBSE to score a 70+?

OR

Start a GPR this July and see if I can still manage to score higher on the CBSE, then try my luck again next cycle?
The reason why I am considering an GPR is because it may look better than another year of private practice and because it will give me some hospital experience.

Don't start a GPR. Try to get OMFS internship if you can. If you can score 70+ on that exam, that is going to be the main thing that helps you get into a residency, even more than an internship (unless it is an internship that takes their own residents).
