I just finished my second year of undergrad, I am planning on taking the DAT this spring or early next summer. I am currently on summer vacation and want to stay productive. I have two months and am not really doing much. I have been reading Kaplan DAT books and will probably purchase the DAT and Math Destroyer books based on reviews here. I know this is early to study but I want a 25+ on the DAT when I take it. I have taken most of the core science classes such as Orgo 1 and 2, Gen Chem 1 and 2, Bio 1 and 2, and Genetics. I have to still take Cell Bio, Microbio, and Biochem. I am a hard worker and have a 4.0 GPA, and would like to know what is the best way to prepare to achieve a 25+ on the DAT?

That's a lot like asking the best way to prepare to become an NFL player. You have to do almost everything right, use a wide variety of materials, have a full understanding of them, be exceptional in your prep, leave no stone unturned, and still have a healthy dose of luck. 25+ is something not even 50 people manage every year.

Not to discourage you but don't set yourself up for disappointment because I don't think 25 is a score anyone can guarantee with just hard work.

Study for those two months and take the DAT. I took my DAT after my sophomore year and it was a great decision. Many of my peers have the DAT to worry about on top of the stresses of the application cycle. You don't need Cell Bio, Micro, Genetics, or Biochem. I just took Biochem and felt the class was overkill for the scope of the DAT. I studied for 6 weeks and I posted my study calendar in my DAT breakdown -- find the link in my bio. Good luck!
