Hey guys, I'm in a huge bind right now. Please give me some advice on this ASAP. I just got an admissions call from CCOM and what happened is that I didn't end up getting my degree this year because I switched from Engineering to LAS senior year and engineering doesn't require any foreign language and LAS requries 2 years of it. I just got a call from admissions saying that due to this, there can be a technicality issue because on my AACOMAS, I did indicate I was going to end up getting a degree. However, I didn't know about this foreign language requirment till just last sem (after I was accepted). I have a meeting with the Dean sometime soon and she wants to speak to me regarding this issue and make a decision on my matriculation. I am sooooo scared right now, what should I do? Any suggestions or any past succesful stories to share regarding this? Please help me out. Thanks

wow, bad news for you...

go in..be honest...and work it out like an adult.

I am not sure if CCOM requires a college degree completion or not but it sounds like you goofed on knowing your requirements.

With that being said....it has happened and now you must work to get it taken care of. Talking to the dean is the best choice. I'm pulling for ya!

here is the word from their own website....

To be competitive, an applicant should possess both a science and a total GPA over 3.00 on a 4.00 scale as well as a bachelor's degree. A minimum science and overall GPA of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale is required to receive a supplemental application.

Complete a minimum of 90 semester hours at an accredited college or university. No grade less than C will be accepted for any prerequisite course (a C- will NOT be accepted).

As you can tell its not nessessary to have the degree but they really would like you to have one. I am thinking that it is now a manner of misrepresentation on AACOMAS and again...just be honest and open with the dean.

yeah...now comes the integrity issue of the application process except this time the stakes are higher than in your interview.

Again, I wish you luck, just be truthful and honest. Please keep us in the know.
