Here is my situation, I was an excellent high school student and got enough credit to start off as a sophomore in college. That combined with living on my own, I really messed up. My GPA is 2.63 and my science GPA is 2.6, I am slowly starting to bring it up, I am takin a full 18 hours this semester. I do plan on applying for matriculation next year, my mcats are:
6VR 7PS and 10 BS = 23 L

I know my stats are low so should I even apply, if I get a 4.0 this semester, I could raise my GPA to about a 2.9, and also, one of my letters of reccomendation is the wife of a professor at one of the podiatry schools, don't know if that helps or not.

I wouldn't recommend applying if your gpa is below a 3.0. However, you would still have a chance of getting accepted into at least 1 of the 9 pod schools with the 2.9 gpa. I would especially apply to the pod school that the husband teaches at. It sounds like your still pretty young. So if you have to stay another year at undergrad to raise your gpa, it won't be too bad.

I agree. Stay another year at school to give yourself choice of programs.

Also, if you get a 4.0 this next year with a heavy courseload, that will speak more than the actual points that it adds to your GPA. I can't tell you if it will be enough, but that would look very good on your app amongst the other stats.
