I just took the DAT today for the first time and here are my scores:

PA: 12??????
QR: 16
RC: 19
Bio: 16
GC: 18
OC: 19
TS: 18
AA: 18

I don't know what to do because it is so late into the application cycle. I have already submitted my app.

I have applied to UIC, SIU, Creighton, Marquette, Case, and NYU. (I am an Illinois resident)

I have a 3.4 science average
3.54 cum
3.7 non science

I am a double major in Biology and Psychology.

Do I have any shot of getting into dental school. I don't understand where I went wrong in the PA section.

I'm sorry to have to say this, but your bio score is too low and your PAT is also a problem. However you can retake and you CAN raise those scores...don't give up!! You just need to practice practice practice the PAT...I struggled at first but you can do it with practice.

Unfortunately, your definitely going to have to retake because a 12 in any section of the DAT is a red flag for most schools. Your AA is also not high enough to cover up one low section. You have a good GPA but if i were you, i would save whatever money i could for this cycle and retake my DAT.

For the most part you did pretty good. But the PAT will really lower your chances and most likely effect your entrance towards the dental schools.

I would do a retake.

Since you have already submitted, you can just hope for the best. Don't count yourself out just yet, but perhaps add a couple schools.

your overall averages are good, but 2 16's and a low pat i'd say retake. sorry bud, im in the same boat.what did you use to study with?
