So I know that this has been discussed in the past, but I want to know because someone in the pre-allo forum is trying to tell me she's worried about getting C's this semester and having an acceptance rescinded. I thought that if you got a couple of C's that was okay. I'm not in danger of failing any of my classes; worst case scenario is 2B's, 2 C's. I'm not in trouble, am I? Has anyone here had a bad semester before their matriculation into med school and had their acceptance rescinded?

At my school the policy is a D or F, and you could be out. Check the policy at your school (perhaps in the accpetance package they sent you).

Yeah, I can understand a D or an F, but a couple of C's? All the acceptance packet said was that I had to achieve grades comparable to past performance-- well I've received only 1 B+ for the past three years, but freshmen/sophomore years it was mostly B's and one C.

as long as you meet graduation req's, you're fine- they just wanna see that you have a diploma- but if you think you are on your way to f-ing up a class that you don't need to graduate, just drop it.

Yes. I've seen acceptance letters that indicate a requirement of "a C or better in all remaining coursework". I suspect most schools follow this methodology. A "C-" is probably pushing it though.

Don't worry about Cs. Most places want an average of a C or better, like Law2Doc pointed out. If you fail to meet graduation requirements or flunk a class, you might be up the river, but if all you're worrying about are a couple of Cs, then you can relax.
