Just need a few things cleared up...

1. A friend said that we're not allowed to use our own pencils... is this true? They give us pencils? If not, I'm bringing two mechanical pencils.

2. Anyway, I'm taking it 4/4 and just wanted to make sure I have what I need:
-Drivers License (Also bringing ssc just in case lol)
-Myself
-Pencils?

That's it right? (other than food/drink)

3. Also, from taking practice cbt's I know there's a 10 min break after PS. then you do verbal... 10 min break... then writing sample (10 min break?)... then BS. when is the lunch break (how long?).

4. Last question... what does the periodic table icon look like? On the sample cbt's you press the button called "EXHIBIT" on the bottom of the screen. Is it also called exhibit on the real test?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, you're not allowed to bring your own pencils, they'll give you two regular ones (not mechanical). Apparently certain pencils can be used as cameras too and stuff, that's why.

Drivers license is fine, I dunno if you'll need your SSC. Yeah, bringing yourself is a good idea. They don't supply you with one of those.

You get your own lockers outside the testing room, where you can put food and what not. You don't get a lunch break, just those 10 min. breaks in between each section (note that it may take a few min. to check in, and check out). In other words, have a GOOD MEAL before it's game time, and have drinks and maybe a snicker's bar or something for breaks. Don't drink too much, it'd suck to have to use the bathroom in the middle of a section.

Yeah, the periodic table is EXHIBIT as well on the test.

Thanks for the quick response. OH crap! I thought there was a lunch break? LOL! wt hell? I've been practicing all my exams with a cigarette break at least once to simulate the lunch break. I'm going to be shaking after 4-5 hours of no cigarettes. Guess its time to bust out my nicotine gum after the writing sample.

There's a timer on the real exam correct? The aamc practice tests have a timer on the bottom left corner... is it the same way on the real test? I don't have to keep looking at the clock do I?

yup, there's a timer on the real MCAT exactly like on the AAMCs. In fact, the AAMCs are pretty much about as close to the real MCAT as you can get (with a few extra features tacked on) without taking the actual thing.

One difference from the AAMC's. The timer on the real test warns you when you are half way through and when you have 5 minutes. Not 45 and 15 like the AAMC's.
