I was offered a seat by both schools, and I love both of them. I was really impressed by the spirits of those students in Berkeley during my interview day, but ICO does have a more updated look and equipment. I was offered $7500 scholarship from berkeley ($2000for everyone, $3000for being out state and $2500 for academic), I am not sure if ICO would give me scholarhsip, I am still waiting on the letter.

So what do you all think?

You should pick ICO and leave the Berkeley spot for me. Just kidding.

I was actually very impressed with ICO's faculty and staff. It seems very easy going and the updated equipment seems to be a plus. Berkeley on the other hand, has a great reputation. You should wait for the letter then make a decision.

haha, I will let you know first hand if I decide not to go to Berkeley.

I am kinda leaning toward ICO now, but I am sure after I go back to Berkeley on 4/17, I will lean toward Berkeley. This is really hard cause these two schools are totally opposite.

I got the letter from ICO today. They will give me the Trustees Scholarship. It says it's a $5000 per academic year scholarship as long as I keep 3.2 GPA after the first year.

The deposit is $500 and it is refundable in the amount of $250 by May 15th. Umm....That's a lot of money they won't refund.

Losing $250 is not that much compared to other schools. I don't think $250 should even be an issue if you are deciding between two schools.

I would really consider the environment.... cold vs warm? I'd choose Berkeley hands down, plus tuituion adds up quick.

Thanks for the advice. Well, Ohio state offered me a seat as well and their deposit is also 500 and 475 is refundable. But I know what you mean, I should consider other issues when choosing schools.

I know! weather is a big issue for me. I live in Kentucky now, and I really don't do so well during the harsh winter here. I can't imagine how cold it's gonna be in Chicago. Now I am kinda concerned about the housing. It seems like it's hard to find apartment around Berkeley, but ICO has RC so it is really convenient for 8am class.

i reserved a seat a NECO. $500 non-refundable.

ICO has reading comprehension?:scared:

I assume RC = on campus housing?

Berkeley has graduate student housing as well.

If you do not mind what is your GPA and OAT scores? It seems that you are very competitive applicant?

Hopeopt, why does it matter what flushlaba's stats are like? You already got accepted, and it really doesn't matter especially because there is no competition in optometry school (or they tell us that anyway).
