What to do about applying while in masters?

I'm currently in a masters program but I'm also applying to some DO schools this coming up year but I'm unsure what to do because osteopathic schools start in August [usually] but my masters program is a year and half [hence ending in December]. Has anyone been in this situation before? Do DO schools allow an acceptance but also allow you to first finish your program or vise versa [masters allows you to do DO then allows you to return]. Hoping to hear from people who've had experience [either themselves or from a friend]. Thanks for your responses in advance.

You will either have to leave the master's program without completing it or wait another year.
