What to do instead of finishing residency?

So, I've read a few other people who have had the same dilemma. I came out of my residency spot in my 4th of 5 years (ya, I know, so close) and I owe 300k. I've been trying to get into a new residency spot, in a different field, but it has proved challenging.

I would like to stay in clinical/OR assisting medicine but it seems hard without having a completed residency (board certified/eligible I think is the American lingo). I'd do a locum ANYWHERE (USA, Canada, overseas), research, education, etc. I'm single so relocating isn't a huge deal.

Does anyone know of a state/city that is so desperate for a smaller town emerg coverage or a FP locum somewhere that I could look into? I'm just trying to work all my options if this new residency position plan doesn't work out.

I'm adventurous... I'd even move to Alaska if there were opportunities there.

You can work for BOP or Indian Affairs? Put some time in and then reapply for residency?

Some rural states will hire uncertified docs to work in the medical clinic at state psych hospitals, also look into prison work
